No Surprises Act Information
You are entitled to a "Good Faith Estimate" that details the anticipated costs of your medical care. By law, healthcare providers must furnish patients who are uninsured or not utilizing insurance with an estimate of the total expected charges for any non-emergency procedures or services. This encompasses associated expenses such as medical tests, prescription medications, equipment, and hospital fees. Ensure that your healthcare provider supplies you with a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least one business day before your medical services. You can contest the charge if your bill exceeds your Good Faith Estimate by $400 or more. Remember to keep a copy or photograph of your Good Faith Estimate. For inquiries or additional information regarding your right to a Good Faith Estimate, please visit [www.cms.gov/nosurprises].
